Anyone ever grown these nuts? I had a visitor from Zimbabwe that was telling me about them, and then I just noticed a mention of them – I think it’s the same thing – in Southern Exposure Seed Exchange (which, by the way, is probably my favorite vegetable seed catalog for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast). Southern Exposure suggests they can’t be grown here in NC zone 7. I guess the season just isn’t long enough? Does anyone know how far north they can be grown? If there’s any way to grow them (like maybe starting them as transplants in a greenhouse ahead of time), I’d be really interested.
