Rubinette color questioned

I expected my Rubinettes to be at least somewhat red or red-orange streaked, but mine are mostly just golden with just occasional areas of blush. Very attractive but not what I expected.

So I’m not really sure if my Rubinettes are indeed Rubinettes. I got the scion years ago from Nick Botner.

The apple I have is on the small side, excellent eating and keeping, and I’m glad to have it no matter what it is. But I would like to know.

Anybody care to share their own experience? Thanks.

I looked for pictures of mine last year but I guess I didn’t take any. From what your describing though it sounds exactly like my Rubinette apples though.

They vary widely in coloration, I have had ones barely red and I have had some with a lot of red. They also can be small. It sounds like the right apple to me as well.
