I found this seedling among some weeds I was pulling in my garden. It was located about 15ft away from my raspberry bushes and about 25ft away from my closest blackberry bush. My PictureThis app identified it as a California Blackberry, but I feel like it is more likely a Heritage raspberry seedling as they are the only thorny rubus I have in my yard besides Snowbank blackberries, but those are about 50ft away and the birds don’t touch those. Anyway, the leaves don’t match anything I have so I wonder what you all think this is.
Seeds can lie dormant for decades…blackberry, etc!
