Sap coming out of Cherry pruning site

All the sudden multiple cherry trees in my backyard had juice/sap coming out of the “heading cut” on the trunk. I watered these trees a week ago. I did a “deep watering”, perhaps too much water, and then the weather warmed up too. A lot of juice started coming out at the top of the trunk where the previous heading cut was. These sites were fine and dry for so long and all the sudden droplet-sized oozing started to form.

I was worried about bacteria canker. So I made heading cuts on those young cherry trees again. Still I’m getting a little bit of sap seeping out from the pruning site. A tiny but noticeable amount. Should I be worried? I tried to spray with copper and put some Cephalexin on top. In the past, when I pruned cherries, no brown ooze would come out most of the time. This time they just wouldn’t stop. I feel at loss with cherries. I’ve lost multiple cherry trees in the last few years. They are so difficult, plagued with diseases, whereas plums would grow fine in Western WA.

I’m wondering if I should just watch and monitor at this point. Every time I cut away the area producing sap revealing the healthy green tissue, then more sap gets produced. I’m worried the sap can keep the wound wet & open and thus leading to infection.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
