Little sugar maple planted itself by my orchard/veggie fence. I don’t want to try to move it now, but would it be better to move it this fall or early spring next year before leaves out? I actually have a spot in the yard where I could let it grow…

It might survive if you dig it up in the fall well after the leaf fall but for best results dig your hole in the fall and transplant it in winter.
