I don’t have evidence other than their proximity and the large amount of overlap in their catalogs, but, I wonder if mehrabyan is getting the bulk of their trees wholesale from schlabach’s, and simply providing a more convenient retail outlet. For me, schlabach’s ships stone fruit to oregon and mehrabyan doesn’t, otherwise I’d have gotten a few from mehrabyan by now

This name keeps coming up in my forum feed. Just now I looked up Schlabach’s Nursery & found this number: 866-600-5203 & left a voice mail message. They will send a catalog & then I will know. (Pronounced shlah bach - same color vowel as we typically pronounce the name of the great Johann Sebastian…)
I live on the other side of the continent from them. Will report.

I finally remember to do what I’d committed to writing about their compact catalog: page 15,

“Restrictions – Sorry…We cannot ship trees or plants to Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon or Washington”

That, I suppose, leaves the possibility of ordering things & books (the “Grape Grower”!), but the cost of shipping these days makes me look elsewhere for such.

Any idea what time of year it makes sense fo call for 2026 trees?

You can call now. Often you need to leave a message. I got lucky when I called mid afternoon. Someone answered my calls. In the past, they sent out a catalog around the New Year.
