Sensation peach

I’m getting a good harvest off my Sensation peach this year. It is a genetic dwarf, 4 years in ground and only 4’x4’ with only pruning to open up the center more.

The flavor is admittedly not great (not bad, just average), but the tree is beautiful in bloom and I only spray for leaf curl. Some peaches have a worm in them, no big deal. It’s freestone and easy to cut out the bad part.

I’ll probably harvest a bushel off this tree. I should have thinned it, I know.

As you can see, I had to prop up branches under the fruit load!

You know, if you have a “good enough” tree that provides ample fruit in a very small space, that’s not bad. I use my “average tasting” fruits for smoothies and in cooking, instead of eating out of hand . Really, really nice to be able to grab a freezer bag full of frozen peach chunks to make up a smoothie or peach daiquiri! Very nice.
