Tony,

You should get paid by Tourism Authority of South Korea. I just spoke with my niece last week that among popular (for visiting) Asian countries, Korea and Taiwan are low on my list to visit. I felt they don’t have much to offer (that interests me). Your pics may change my mind .

I am heading to Thailand next month and will have a side trip to Xi’an, China, if all goes well as planned.

I may see you in Thailand in a month or so. I will be leaving Seoul South Korea to Vietnam on 3-3-26 for a month to visit the whole country starting from Ha Noi’s Halong Bay then every cities in the south all the way to the Nekong Delta where I was born. After that then to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand before heading back to the United States. A long two months trip.

Here are more photo of Seoul restaurant foods and Moche ice cream.

I am impressed that your boss let you take 2 months off. What dates you will be in Thailand? April is the hottest month of the year. Had it not been for my family reunion, I would go at another time. The only comfort is that I could eat as many durians as I want.

We just came back from 3 weeks in VN. Flew into Hanoi and made our way down to Da Nang, Nha Tran, Saigon, Phu Quoc, Can Tho and then back to Saigon to fly out. Ha Long bay was nice on the cruise boat but it was very crowded, especially on tour of the caverns. The flight there and back were not something I want to repeat often..LOL

Durian wasn’t in peak season in VN so it was relatively pricey compare to other fruits, they may have imported them from Thailand or Malaysia. I think it was about $4+/kg…but it was so good.

I am winding down now and only work PRN so I can schedule my OR hours. I am also looking forward to eat all the Durian that my stomach can handle. Hopefully, this will Lansat season. I loved that fruit. I brought some dry -fit clothes for the hot and humid weather in Southeast Asia. @Fishsauce looks like you enjoy the trip very much.

@Fishsauce $4 a kilo for durian in Vietnam is far better than $12 a lb in stores around here in MA.

@tonyOmahaz5 if you visit Thailand before April 20, I hope we can meet in Bangkok.

If you’re still there Tony go to Dongmyo Flea Market it’s really fun. If you’re going outside Seoul try to find a traditional 5-Day street market wherever you end up.

We took a ferry to this small island and the the farmers kept their fruit trees branches pretty low and open vase pruning. They must not have deer around.

Plums

Jujube trees had many low lateral branches also

Here are the pictures of the beautiful small island

I lived in Korea for a year and you are making me very nostalgic . We have been going to Asia every year but have been neglecting Korea, but I think I will try to get over there soon. Thanks for sharing!
