Shasta Gold Mandarin

Very vigorous for a Mandarin and the fruit is huge!

Got all three Gold Series mandarins so I don’t know if they taste as good as trees growing in Florida or California than Arkansas. They are good enough for me. My trees are about 5 years old some older.

I’m still waiting on first fruit for my Gold series (Tahoe Gold aka TDE3), but I’ve always been happy with the TDE fruit at the local grocery store. They don’t specify which TDE, though, and I assume it’s a mixture of all three.

FYI, Shasta Gold’s patent (aka TDE2) expired a couple years ago, though I wouldn’t recommend swapping scionwood beyond your immediate neighborhood, due to HLB risks:

All the TDE (Shasta, Yosemite, & Tahoe Gold) are now available for purchase from UCR/CCPP.

Bob, which one of the 3 TDE is your favorite taste?
How do you like the ThongDee pomelo?

George, I have eaten so many mandarins, I do believe Tahoe is not as good. Got a lot of different varieties of citrus, all top notch varieties. Lee Nova is one of my favorite, I think Page is part Lee Nova.
Thong Dee is my favorite pomelo, got my sionwood from a great member here on this forum, many many years ago.
