Scott,
Yeah, the Shenandoah starting to give a little with a light sqeeze. The Mango pawpaw probably will be ready by next week. They both are huge due to all 17 inches of rain this year so far. The last couple of weeks our temp was hot in the upper 80’ s aND 90’s.
Tony
Beautiful fruit Tony. I hope mu shenandoah does as well when it starts fruiting.
Charlie,
Do you have another pawpaw tree for cross pollination or are you planning to graft a different variety to it? I just went out and took some photos of the Mango. They are getting real close to ripen.
Tony,
I have a two Peterson varieties for cross pollination, a Shenandoah and a Susquehanna.
Those look great, Tony. I’ve never tried paw paw before. I’ve been indecisive about planting them, but finally ordered the “Triple Play Collection” from Stark Bros. Maybe I can report on the flavor in a few years. A little apprehensive about the texture.
Rob
I got my Mango pawpaw from Starkbros and it was a good one. It was the fastest growing of all pawpaw varieties.
Tony
Boy, these look so good, but I don’t think I could grow Paw Paws out here in S. California. Boo.
I think Cherimoya will do fine in your climate but not pawpaw.
Tony
Yes, Cherimoya grow well here. That’s a great idea, Tony, thanks.
