My Sherwoods are ripening now but about 50% or so get vertical cracks. I feel it is more pronounced this year. Anyone else experience this?
Redlands4, Sugar Cane, Honey Jar, Tigers Tooth grafted onto the same tree does not have this issue.

Sometimes that happens with too much moisture near ripening time.
My Sherwoods and Chico’s get splits if it rains a lot during harvest time
Thank you both! I have been watering lately as it has been dry. I was trying to prevent other types on the same grafted tree from prematurely shriveling up.
