Shot hole in peach tree?

Hi All,
I think my peach tree has shot hole the leaves are turning yellow with purplish rings then holes the size of BB’s form on them then they fall off! I was watching some You Tube vids on this subject and from what I understand there’s not much I can do about it at this point! But I guess the solution is spaying the tree with a copper fungicide this fall and again in the spring when new growth is just starting out. But I’m really confused, the way I understand it you spray with copper until the new growth is about an inch long, and including during bloom! That’s what I’m confused about! I’ve always been told to never ever spray when the flowers are on the tree for fear of killing the bees! Can anyone clear up this confusion?

That’s definitely bacterial spot. Sometimes if you spray in the hot sun the droplets can burn the leaves and it looks similar, but bacterial spot will be more rounded and include some greenish material, which seems like the case with yours.

Spraying during bloom is only a big concern if you’re spraying insecticides, as people don’t consider that what kills their target pest will probably hurt bees as well. As long as the product you’re using isn’t toxic to bees, which copper isn’t, it should be fine to spray, but you can always spray in the evening when bees aren’t active if you’re worried.

Thanks much for the info, that’s something I’ve really been confused about for a while now. But this fall I’ll spray my trees with a copper fungicide, and again in the spring, I’ll spray them from the very start of spring growth until the flowers fall off with copper, and hopefully that will take care of the shit hole.
Thanks Again,
Paul
