Thank you. I had no choice. My lot is shaded by the counties giant oak trees in the front, so I do not have much land where sun shines more than three or four hours per day. By building a little platform out of treated lumber, their pots are elevated and therefore capture even more sun than otherwise
Genovese Nero AF and Noire de Barbentane sizing up. Both are very good figs.
Genovese Nero AF
Noire de Barbentane
Wow!!! They Look beautiful, and so promising
My first ripe fig of the year is a Florea breba. Who would’ve thought I’d be picking ripe figs starting in June in Pennsylvania. More breba are swelling. It wasn’t amazing but certainly not the worst and quite a pleasant surprise.
Just picked a Longue d’Aout breba for the first time. It was OK: sweet with little flavor.
Sorry to report my newly tree’s are just taken off now from a disastrous 2020. New varieties are, Moscatel Preto, Bourjasette Gris, R/B, B/k/v.
All are now doing great, potted in larger containers, good for the next 2 years. B/G will be uppotted, had to buy new containers yesterday.
MY FIG COLLECTION IS COMING TO AN END!!!, including half a dozen Smith trees, a few others.
Very nice! Did your noire de barbentane get a greenhouse start? I have a first year tree which I hope will start fruiting next year—hopefully not too late even though I have no greenhouse.
No head start or greenhouse. Most likely your will start fruiting next year.
Awesome, thanks! Just what I was hoping to hear
I too am looking to hear your opinion on the thermalito
Wow.
Looking forward to more of these delicious Coll de Dama de Ciutat
And my first taste of De la Gloria (which has been such a slow grower for me but now seems to be taking off)
LaRadeck EBT Breba (English brown turkey ) ( Harvested 07-02-21)
Not all brown turkey are same it is good one sweet fig. First time harvested any fig from this plant.
Main crop will tell more about this.
‘LaRadek’s English Brown Turkey’, it’s not an 'eastern brown turkey.
You are right it is English Brown Turkey. Corrected
Harvested Jolly Tiger, Danny’s Delight and Longue d’Aout brebads recently. The first 2 were OK but water logged because of all the rain we just had. LdA was OK, not great.
LaRadeck EBT: The color looks different than other BT breba. More yellow than brown. How productive was the breba crop?
With Breba color can be any seen a lot of figs green turned brown and no red tint inside etc.
First time producing breba and only one so can not say anything my plant is only second year rooted cutting.
