Simple scion/grafting question

That meant the flowers were pinched off either before they were fully open or immediately after petal fall. There is vegetative growth available with flowering tip buds. They generally produce a fork if you take off all blooms. The hormones available will send out vegetative growth as long as there are no seeds to feed at that location. That has been the case with any partial tip-bearers I have grown: Lord Lambourne, Bardsey and a seedling, so far.
The upshot is you might want to cut one of the fork to promote single growth at that young age.

The side bud with only one bloom on Hunt Russet was unusual in my limited experience. That is an aspect of Hunt I will watch in future. Will it produce single blooms here and there besides the usual set of seven?
