Site Maintenance this morning

Site Maintenance this morning: the site has been running super well so it has not had to go down for a long time but it’s overdue. I will start around 9:30AM. The downtime depends on what shape things are in, an hour is a good initial guess.

OK it’s back up! Enjoy all the new features. If you have questions about them please follow up here. The 3-line menu thing that was in the upper right is now in the upper left and there is a big menu of stuff under it. If you want to close the new menubar on the left just click on those three lines in the upper-left. The balloon in the upper-right is a new chat feature.

My 3 lines are still on the right but when I click on it, I no longer see new threads. Do I have to browse all categories to find new stuff?

Oh if you are using the phone version the three lines are still on the right. I assume you are using that. I just tried out the phone version for the first time myself.

You should see all new threads just like before, they should be on the Home Screen… no change to that. Also if you click on “Topics” at the very top of that new menu it will also show you all new things.

Hey it looks like there is also now a phone app which seems to work pretty well. It is called Discourse Hub and is on both phone types. Here is the link for the iPhone app for example:

Just fire it up and add growingfruit.org as a new site. I am using it now and it seems very similar to the web on the phone usage mode.

@scottfsmith I got a bunch of messages saying I earned some badges like First Quote and Editor. I assume they are just old stuff

I had something similar, it seemed like after the update a bunch of old notifications I’d never clicked on before moved back to the top, but once I cleared them it went back to normal.

Yes I got the same thing. I think the notification system may have gotten behind before the update. Just clear them all, the Dismiss at the bottom of the right side pop up menu does that if I recall correctly.
