I’m really impressed with this variety of radish called SmartRadish from Green Cover Seed. It did great for me last year. Below is a picture of another small planting from this year. Getting a spot ready to plant a plum tree next spring and I’m trying to loosen up the soil. I seeded it with oats for filler. If you have heavy or compacted soil I think it’s a great choice. It seems to get a lot better penetration than with daikon or regular tillage radish. A lot less of the root sticking out of the ground.
