Source for Cornus mas cultivars east of the Mississippi?

Had a friend contact me to see if I knew of a source for Cornus mas cultivars east of the Mississippi. I don’t - but figured some of you here might be able to point us in the right direction.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

last I knew, Fedco sold at least three cultivars. The names elude me at the moment, but someone posted a chart on another Cornus mas thread showing what the original (Ukrainian?) cultivar names were. They only sell bare root for spring shipment…

Maine is North…then East… of the MissSip. If you are a crow.

You dont hear north or south of the Mason-Dixon line much anymore…

believe it or not, it goes way up there @Kris- all the way to Minn-a-soti

I believe it… but if you say it counts then it counts.

If you’re going to have a pedantic argument about cardinal directions, at least use a map projection that lets you accurately compare latitude.

Who’s having a pedantic arguement?.. A more scholarly fellow could say that ‘East of the Mississippi River’ is anywhere east of the red stuff.

So with that… im going to amend my answer to Yay. Mainers are East of the Miss river.

It even gives the buyer more options on nurseries.

Mason was a crow?

No he invented the jar. So us southerners got to enjoy the Mason Jars to hold our moonshine.

Dixon is an old name meaning son of Richard (Dick). So of course you know that us southerners meant that name when we made the line. As most sons of Richards live up north… are usually…

Rich Men North of Richmond kinda keeps with the jest. So the line still holds.

I’m a Richard south of Richmond CA who taught my daughters to preserve fruit in Mason jars at the western end of the Mason GA line.

Exactly.
One Green World in Portland OR (45° 31’) is north of Fedco Seeds in Clinton ME (44°38′).

We are hoist by the Mercator petard. It sounds like something the dog drug up that the cat won’t touch.

This friend is in Michigan. IDK where his friend is who requested the information.

Thanks for the input and sources.

Is the person looking for grafted trees? I have a collection of around 2 dozen varieties and could provide scionwood if they have rootstock

very generous of you, @JesseinMaine

ive only eaten seedlings to my knowledge, and Ive found those similar in most respects. can you tell us a bit about how much these cultivars vary one to another, how much different or better they are than mill run seedlings (or seedling “varieties” like ‘redstone’? What are your favorites?

They tend to produce much larger than the seedlings I grow, have a higher fruit to pit ratio. Some differences in flavor and amount of astringency as well as colors

Can you tell me which varieties you have scions for?
