Hello! I just bought this Bartlett from a nursery this year and noticed some blackened leaves at the tips of some shoots. Seems like fire blight to me? What do you think? Go ahead and trim off the shoots 3 inches from the tips? Would an application of copper sulfate be benifical? It just got done raining here in north Texas for the last 2 weeks and should be dry for awhile now. Thank you!
It looks like it could be but it may be localized and the tree may shrug it off- it looks like it took hold in individual leaves following some damage. But Bartletts are susceptible, and I’d remove the affected leaves, at least. I don’t know if sprays would help, but that’s not saying I’m doubtful, just that I don’t know.
Agree with Mark, remove the entire leaf petiole, and watch daily for spread of infection, either burn or move cuttings off site, disinfect pruners each time between cuts

Thank you Dennis and Mark for the feedback!!
Fireblight attacks the leaves and branch, that is fabraea. It usually happens after it rains and seems to harm new growth first. You will get spots on older leaves that turn purple and eventually black. Remove them as soon as you see it. I cleaned all my pears yesterday that were infected. It is more common among European pears, Asian pears have a natural resistance. I also have a Bartlett full of tiny fruit and it does way batter that most European pears and is a great pollinator for most pears European and Asian.
Very good. I did remove them asap. Thank you for your time replying!
