Does anyone know what this strange looking vine could be?
It looks to be shedding its bark.
It is growing out of the ground near a bunch of Oak Trees.
I live near Fort Worth Texas.

That’s probably Campsis radicans (Trumpetcreeper) on Quercus stellata (Post oak). I like Post oak a lot.

Looks like a wild grape. They grow from Texas to Canada.

Agree. Bark & nodes look like grape to me.
