I panted 2 tilamook goumis from Whitman farms last summer. they both seemed to do well. this year they both flowered and looked the same to start but since then one of them has held fruit and has grown to at least twice its original size and the other one remains small and stunted with some yellowing leaves (and dropped all of its flowers). both goumis are planted about 15 feet apart. I also noticed the other day that the stunted one was covered in lady bugs. I’m wondering if it has some infestation of ladybug prey that is impacting its growth. any thoughts here?

In all likelihood, you have aphids on them. And those ladybugs are having a feast on the real pests. Just leave them be; it will help keep the ladybug population strong and help prevent similar infestations in the future. Maybe give the goumis some compost or other gentle fertilizer to help them repair the aphid damage.

Check the underside of the leaves, for possible Aphids.

The numerous small white specks (external to the leaves) on the BigMike plant are likely aphid exoskeleton moults.
