I am planning to add Sweet Lavender and/or Beautiful Day mulberries to our home orchard here in Massachusetts (Zone 6a).
I originally hoped to purchase field-grown trees from Lucile at Whitman Farms. However, since we are past the early spring window, she only has 1-gallon potted available.
I am hoping I could benefit from the community’s experience on a few questions:
Flavor profile: Between Sweet Lavender and Beautiful Day, which variety offers a richer, more complex flavor?
Precociousness: Which of the two is generally more precocious (quicker to bear fruit and within how many years)?
Alternative options: Are there any other similar white/lavender mulberry cultivars that you would recommend?
Other nurseries: Can anyone suggest other reliable, reputable sources to purchase these varieties from?
