what did you use to pollinate fragrant pear? i heard it needs a particular pollinator.
@Seattlefigs my fragrance pear has not yet fruited. It is about 10’ tall and wide but just this year is showing fruiting spurs. I have a variety of Asian, European and and some Sorbus x Pyrus crosses. Hopefully one of them does the job.
Hi @DennisD
Squirrels dropped some of my Sweet treat on the ground therefore I picked all in early this year. 8.2nd 23
How’s the Sweet Treat tasting in our climate Vincent?
Hi @Ken_8b
Recently I just gave some Sweet Treat samples to @Bradybb and @ramv. We would like to hear reports from them first, because Brady and Ram had a lot of experience about stone fruit flavors. Hopefully they give us some comments here. Thanks all. Vincent.
This is the first time trying Sweet Treat.Unless something tastes very similar to a different fruit,I feel it’s difficult and unfair to compare, one to another.
With that in mind,it is tangy, which is uncertain to go away,if they are more ripe.Vincent said he picked them a bit early, because of squirrels snatching them.
They are sweet for sure and probably more so,if given longer on the tree.
Overall,I liked the flavor and look forward to eating more.
In our maritime climate. It’s hard to find very good hybrid stone fruit trees. How do you think between sweet treat and Nadia @Bradybb? Thank you so much for comments.
They are totally different fruit and tastes.Nadia is more Plum and Sweet Treat has a tangy, somewhat tropical flavor.
