Two winters ago I took columnarizing your tree to the extreme and cut any side branching from the main limbs. Well I got very few Apple buds because of this. This winter I just cut the ones growing to quickly and left the rest. This year my Tall Spindle trees rewarded me with many buds.

Mission accomplished. No flowers no fruit. What apple variety is in the picture?
I bought the Macintosh at Home Depot so no clue. All of my on line purchases are B9.

How was your harvest off of this tree john?
Close to a hundred apples which is good for a Tall Spindle tree. Mine aren’t perfectly planted, but they seem to do well.

Around six years, not the best records kept.
