The gnomes at The Arboreum Company have returned

A larger variety of European pears, plums and peaches. :pear:

As of today they have updated their plums in stock.

And I’d also like to say that I heard back from them within 3 days about adding the Pallas peach to my previous order and they said that they would do it for the price of the tree and an additional $10. for shipping. I’m good with this and will send them another check for it.

I went back to their site, and there is still only one Euro plum listed.

i placed an order and sent in a check a month ago. No confirmation on their end and no response to either of my two follow-up emails. Bad customer service is always frustrating.

You will hear from them.

Yes, I recall a similar discussion on GW. They eventually came through for everyone.

Mrs. G,

Looks like their are six new varieties of Euro plums just listed…have no idea what they are like, but I remember that you had an interest in them…good luck!

Thanks Stuff- I hadn’t been planning from ordering them this year, as I’m planning on adding mostly euro plums and jujubes. But after seeing their new listings, I’ve ordered 3 plums (Late Muscatelle, Leonie, and Reine Claude de Juillet) and an apricot (Mirsunjeli Late).

Bob, Mirsanjeli is a good apricot, but like the other asian varieties it takes a very long time to fruit. I had to remove mine to thin my apricot stand, things were too close. But it gave good fruits with relatively fewer rot problems.

Aha- there was a spelling difference in the name “Mirsunjeli” vs “Mirsanjeli”. That’s why I didn’t find any reference to it online. I was taken by it’s glabrous description (“Fruits are yellow and glossy, lacking in superficial fuzz”). It sounds like the apricot equivalent of a nectarine.

Any experience with the plums? The Juillet is also known as a “July Green Gage”. I figured that an early one would have a better chance of escaping rot.

Thanks, ordered another plum and a peach.

I don’t know any of the other plums. The Muscatel sounded interesting but I am only removing Euros at this point – four removed last week in fact.

I bought an Oullins that I have wanted for a long while. Also bought a Carman peach, sounded good.

Has anyone tried redsweet apricot?

Those who have already placed their orders, how much have you paid for shipping?

Can’t remember exactly, over twenty dollars though.

I also tried to find photographs on the net for many of the other plums and there wasn’t much info. Are you having too much rot with your Euros? Mine were good this year, except for the exploding mirabelles. I love Euros even though they take years to fruit. You can’t beat a Reine Claude. IMHO.

I may try the Sierra Plum.I think it is applenut that has this variety and really liked the flavor.Part of the description at Arboreum has the fruit being the sweetest Asian Plum. Brady

Shipping was $48 on a $100 order(4 trees). The cost per tree is about what I’ve paid the last two years ($22&$27), but the shipping cost is up quite a bit (6 to 8 to 12$ per tree). Hopefully it means that they will send even bigger tree (cutting back less).

Did they confirm anyone’s order? Or change the payment status when you log in to their website?

They won’t change their payment type. Send them a check. You will hear from them, usually via email confirming your order.
