In summer, the most splendid flower is lotus. But they are not just flowers, they can also produce edible roots and seeds.
Please enjoy my collection of the lotus varieties.
This is sooo impressive! Congratulations!
Did you plant them by seed or you get the plants?
Half and half!
Half of them were grown from seeds. Half of them were bought from the nursery.
thank you for your reply! And it’s easy to plant them by seed?
Pretty easy. But pink and red single layer are dominated .
Thank you very much! I think i will start tow them too…
I am digging a pond this weekend for the 4 lotus seeds varieties I swapped from @Sophia2017. I always wanted a Koi pond with beautiful lotus and some frogs sitting on top of the lotus leaves. I got to keep the coons from eating the Koi though.

Tony,
You are an avid grower in this group even in zone 5. The weather condition is very limited, but you are unlimited.
That’s the reason that I am willing to share my treasure with you.
I will dig the pond deep below the freezing level like 5 feet deep to prevent the tubers from frozen out and let the Koi hypernate on the bottom. Here is my brother’s pond in Chicago and I will try to replicate it here.

Wow, Can’t wait to see your pond!
Your’s brother’s pond alone is about 50% of my backyard space
