Thick fig cuttings — will they root?

I know that pencil size cuttings are best. Will thicker cuttings also root?

No problem. Figs are one of the easiest perennials to root.

Thicker cuttings root better. They have more stored energy to grow more roots, and to survive longer during the rooting process.

Yay! Thanks y’all! I’m going to put some of my cuttings in the neighborhood park with instructions, but didn’t want to include cuttings that might not root.

Yes, they root just fine. If rooted multiple trunks in the 2-4 inch range.

I didn’t time it. But it felt like they took a week or so longer than thinner cuttings.

ps: the parafilm wrapping is probably not necessary. But i wanted to “set and forget” the cuttings in a spot with low humidity. So parafilmed them to avoid desiccation.
