All our cherries ripened this past week (last week of May).
This is a picture of the Juliet bush cherry, now 5 years old. Thebush is loaded with the best cherries I have ever seen. So far, we have picked 6 1/2 gallons.
Beside this Juliet bush is a Carmine Jewel bush cherry; also loaded, excellent quality, ripened a few days before the Juliet. I don’t know which tastes better. They are both excellent. The Juliet does have more cherries on it.
We also have a North Star pie/sour cherry. Not even close to the production of the Juliet bush. The North Star cherries are smaller, more sour and less cherry to pit. I have 10 more small Juliet bushes started.
Our Black Gold sweet cherry had cherries for the first time. They are excellent; good size and taste. About the same size as the Juliet. I will be starting more Black Gold cherry trees; they are a keeper.
The Starkrimson sweet cherry had a dozen blooms right at the end of the Black Gold bloom season. However, no Starkrimson cherries were produced.
