@Fishinjunky Really curious about monez as I’ve read good things about it.
when I said difficult I didn’t mean impossible. several others on this forum have successfully rooted hardwood cuttings. from what I can tell, success for those on the forum has mostly been on hardwood cuttings placed in soil outside when dormant. grafting and rooting green cuttings in summer seem to be more successful based on what I have researched, but I could certainly be wrong.
That sounds like a very fun experiment! when my goumi sends out suckers I plan to dig them up and use them as root stock. please keep me in the loop as you graft and grow these cultivars.
Oh neat! I have had my goumis in the ground two years already and this is the first year they flowered. I’ve never had them before and am looking forward to it very much! I’ve foraged some autumn olives the past few years at a local park so I am familiar with those but I am hoping goumis will be improved on those somehow.
I wanted a Tillamook ever since tasting a ripe berry (two actually) in Portland Nursery. It not only was “good” tasting but it suddenly made my whole body feel like it had been missing a vitamin or something, i felt “better.” No way to describe it, but I thought I should grow it one day and see if it makes me feel healthier eating it.
