Tip Bearer Apples - Thinning

@alan, @scottfsmith ā€¦ and all others who might know

I read the threads related to pruning tip bearers.

My question is in regards THINNING these.

My Yellow Newton Pippin apple on Long Island has set heavily.

Being that most are on spurs on the branch ends, trying to thin to 6-8 inch separation will be like thinning at a 95% rate.

How do I thin these to balance quality and quantity.

Thanx
Mike

Iā€™m no expert on this but what I do if apples are really sparse is leave up to three on a cluster. Think about averaging out to 6-8" between apples.
