Tree cavity needs to be addressed

Pictured here is a apple tree that has been damaged to the point of needing to remove a major branch. I cut the branch at the dotted line. Now, I want to clean out and fill the cavity to prevent further damage to the main trunk. Ideas???

Dilute copper ammonium (1 tsp/gal) for cleanup, followed an hour or so later by Tree Seal, e.g. Morrison’s.

I would consider biodynamic tree paste. It’s worked for myself and some others. You can find the recipe on line. Organic cow poo, clay, sand, maybe some diatomaceeous earth. Put it on during the dormant season.
