I ordered a load of manure for the tree nursery. It turns out it was full of weed seeds. A bunch of Datura and other nastys popped up. I let a few of the Datura go because I wanted to see that they could do in a season. They are now 4 1/2 foot tall and I’m getting Little Shop of Horror vibes. I know they grow in to actual tree in warmer climates but, for the Midwest these are huge.

Cow manure is great stuff and the enemy at the same time! Never saw manure that didn’t grow some of the plants that love it most Eg. Lambs quarter, dock ( at least their edible) ,cocklebur, Thistle, Sand burs ( thorny plants are the worst so bring gloves! ) Then there are the bindweeds and morning glory!

Reminds me of Angel Trumpets. We have those growing in our area and they are a mess.

I think you are right. I was looking at it yesterday and it’s covered with thorny seed pods.
