I just have my best guava. It’s from seed. I do have a tropical pink and white guava tree. However, the new guava from seed is the best. When cut it in half, you have a hint of pink, white, and yellow color flesh. It’s very soft and taste creamy and sweet. It fruited this year and there was only 2 on the tree. It tasted like a Cherimoya, but less intense. It’s a good size fruit.
If you have chance to weigh one of your tri-color guava that would be nice.
I do like the mixed white/pink flesh of your seedling. Better think of a good name for this one.
Was the fruit about the same size as the Tropical Pink guava fruit you showed?
I also have both the Tropical Pink and White. My Tropcial Pink was not pink inside (it was white) but it tasted very good. I’m keeping that one labeled separately since all the fruits were not pink flesh but tasted good.
Fruit from my 2nd tree from seed. The color of fruit does not change much, it remain green on the outside. It’s on the small scale on the fruit size. It remain firm on the outside, but remain soft on the inside. Maybe it will store better if it’s firm? It produce crack line when ripe. It does not produce any scent or smell. So, the smell will not attract the bugs and the firm skin help. It slightly creamy, but still sweet. I prefer this over the Tropical White or Tropical Pink. The tricolor guava, still taste the best because the creaminess of the taste that bring out the sweetness.
My biggest Tropical White guava vs the new guava in size.
White guava:
This year, it’s more white and pink inside. It’s missing the yellow-orange glow. However, it did produce a red color on the outside for the first time.
