Trouble with Apple Trees

After what seems like weeks of rain a few of my apple trees are getting hit with some kind of blight or CAR. I’ve attached some pictures for some expertise as to how to handle this problem. At the beginning, I thought I was getting hit with FB and tried pruning it out. Please take a look at the pictures and give this rookie some advice. The pictures are of two trees both 3 years old. One is a Goldrush on G-11 and the other is LIberty on G-16. I have been spraying regularly with Immunox and Bonide Fruit Tree Spray. Am I going to lose my trees? Thanks, Bchiker

I am no expert but when you said you have sprayed with Immunox and Bonide Fruit Tree spray “regularly”, it makes me nervous. Bhow oftepn? And why so often? Some of those leaves look like chemical burn. Some look like CAR that has been prevented by Immunox.

If those leaves do not turn yellow or brown en masse and drop off, I would not worry. You can simply bag those apples with plastic zip lock bags or foot sox and stop spraying.

When I said regularly I did Fruit spray after blooms were gone and every 2-3 weeks and Immunox at first sign of trouble. The last 2 applications. I did mix the 2 together and used the amount stated on both labels.

Bonide Fruit Tree spray has Captan in it. It could cause leave burn and russet on fruit. You already spray Immunox for CAR and scab. The insecticide in Bonide may not be strong enough. I would mix Immunox with insecticide. I use Triazicide but some say it does not kill pests as well as Imidan.

If you bag, you do not need to spray insectcide from this point onward.

I agree looks like a little bit of this and a little bit of that going on. I wouldnt be overly concerned at this point. Especially if you have had cool and damp weather to this point. Let it go for a couple of weeks and then see how the newest leaves look.

Ok sitting here relaxing, sounds like good advise. Do you think I lost the fruit on these 2 trees?

Can’t tell yet. You are just entering a period of June drops. You may lose some.

In the 2nd pic above. The focus is on a darkened/blackened area on the branch where you trimmed off a twig. I don’t like the look of it.

Should I remove that branch? Or just watch it? If it is FB will I see it grow? Or will that be to late?

Can we see the pick of that whole branch, please?
