A friend who was vacationing in Virginia gave me a bag of fruit. They look like European pears, but when I eat them, the texture is more like an Asian pear. However, they’re not very juicy. I’ve attached a picture. I wonder what type of pear they are.

One of the hybrids of Euro and Asian popular in the past for canning and disease resistance in humid areas of the south, my guess.
