Hoping to start a serious, specific thread to discuss and determine cause and cure for “uneven ripening” in pawpaw.
What is uneven ripening?
For the purposes of this thread, it is the appearance of white flesh amid otherwise normal ripe flesh.
This could take a range of forms: from large sections of firm/hard white tissue to “swirls” of white intermixed.
A concomitant sign is soft, aromatic bulges n whole fruit with remaining areas being hard and odorless.
Perhaps this is an easy one in terms of cause and cure, but I’ve never seen this adequately explained.
What is the cause?
What is the cure?
