Up-and-coming nursery in Ashland County Ohio with a good amount of bare root trees in stock

“The home place” in Polk, Ohio. Thought id mention in case someone is local and is looking for trees. They had a nice setup here with a good selection. Apples on geneva rootstocks are available. This picture was taken today April, 7th 2026.

Ive been going here for a couple years now. I missed my chance at getting one of her goldrush apples this year before they sold out. I was so bummed! She has an awesome variety of annual fruits and veggie plants too

@KrisRos Very cool. I bought a cherry tree from her 2 years ago before they opened just to support her, im sad the one nursery closed near home depot. Check out yoders in apple creek if you havent already. They source their fruit trees from schlabachs i believe, they sell his book at least. They only have potted fruit trees from what ive seen but they are short and stalky. Seckel and harrow sweet pear available. I didnt look too heavy into their apples but they can order whatever you want from schlabachs.

Thank you! Ill have to try and make a trip out to Yoders! I used to get milk from an amish farmer in Apple Creek when we lived in Greenwich. Now I live up by Cedar Point, but still go to West Salem weekly for the herdshare Ive been at for awhile now. I really like to hit up the nurserys over in Shiloh, too. Do you ever get over that way? They have some real nice amish and mennonite run greenhouses too

We were just talking about nurseries in the shiloh area and how we need to check them out, but we didnt get around to it. Every year i talk about going but never do. Ill get out there this year now that i know theyll have fruit trees lol. O and i know this is random and not fruit related but check out the “double knock out” rose if you havent already, a new discovery for me so im telling people about it lol. Just bought some. If you do happen to make it down to yoders check out Lehmans hardware in Kidron. Lots of great stuff for men and women. Berlin is awesome to visit. Lots of shops… Im sure you know all of this, but just in case you didnt or for someone in the future reading this post.

I actually have a pink double knock out I believe, and it has blooms all season long pretty much until frost hits it! Its gorgeous and smells so good! I got it for a few dollars on clearance at the end of season a few years back . And Lehmans is on my wishlist of places to hit up! I see it in youtube videos all the time and really want to go!
