Propagating Fig Cuttings

Question Last year I tried to root fig cuttings on the Kitchen floor. But Even watering them once a week caused major rot. This year I have a Heat Mat and Thermostat set at 76 degrees. How often should I water the cuttings? [image]

I am using a standard potting mix
cut with 25% Pumice.
I tried to use Vermiculite last year
it was a disaster.
High moisture retention encourages rot.
