Tippy,

I loved eating any fruits that I could get my hands on them and usually about 6 of different kind of fruits daily. With Figs, I also liked them all. Sugar fig like Celeste. Honey figs like Lattarula, LSU Gold. Berry figs like
I-258, Strawberry verte, and the rest of the top tier figs.
And all the Mountain Etna’s figs like 600M, Gino Black, Dark Greek, … I just liked them all. I still have a 5 lbs frozen figs for jams.

Tony,
I have not master getting my potted figs to get going early yet. This year, I brought them out a bit early when temp was in the mid 35-40 F… Next year, I will try to get them out earlier. Figs should tolerate temp over 0F right?

But I also feel that when I brought them out early, they sat there doing nothing until it gets warmer. Do your potted figs grow when them are still in the 30’ and 40’?

I believe damage will occur in the low 20s or higher depending on the variety.

I built a 60’X60’ cement patio for my figs. The cement retained the heat from the sun to help the fig growing. I gave my brother 20 fig trees and I told him to go Home Depot and buy 10 cement boards and put all the potted figs on them. They are doing real well in Roscoe Illinois.

Nice town and not to far from Wisconsin Dell where all the water parks. We had a great time there.
