Im having a hard time finding much info on this apple on the forum (could be my incompetence). Could anyone growing this apple please tell us all about it, especially in regards to flavor and disease resistance? It will help me make some final decisions for my orchard, thanks!
I have my sights set on Victoria as well. So far I only have an Old Fashion Limbertwig graft growing. But hope to have Victoria, Black, Royal, White and Little Limbertwigs next year. Maybe Meyers Royal , Red Royal and Ben Lomand too.
So far it seems very resistant to CAR. No signs of infection the past two seasons; and this is a very high-pressure area, with loads of eastern red cedars full of “apples.” (Even King David gets a speck of CAR here and there.) It establishes well (my second best grower among my new apples—after King David), and looks to have a tendency toward precocity: bloomed second year on G.969. Looks like it will be quite spurry. That’s all I know from my brief personal experience.
