You are right the M-7ās seem to put out an awful lot of suckers every year. That and I found out as they get older the M-7 tends to lean to one side like it is going to fall over. I had two at my old house and they both leaned. My next door neighbor has three M-7 rootstock apple trees and they are all leaning. They are at least 20+ years old.
