I felt like this apple deserved it’s own discussion thread. I just grafted it this spring from @highdesertheritage and am looking forward to the day when I can see how it tastes and performs where I live (in VA actually )

Profile - Merle_Hawggard - Growing Fruit Grows this apple in Arkansas. He likes them. Also was told by Suzanne at Big Horse Creek in NC that it was one of the best tasting apples in their entire collection. It’s a winner.
First time ever hearing of VA LT. Anyone know when it ripens and is it a sweet fresh eater or one that needs to be stored for a while? If it’s from VA I would assume it does well here in Va.
