The walking onions are an interesting plant. I have had them less than a year and have only sampled a few in different soup mixture in a small crockpot. As of now I mostly like that they can be used fresh all year. If I needed a large amount I would go for the large bulb types.

If you want to have a good time eat some of those little tiny onion bulbs. They are like eating a lit firecracker.
I ate one small topset and as you indicated it was potent. The blades were milder tasting. When I came inside everyone said that they smelled onions.
I’m working on increasing the amount of plants this year so I only harvested a small amount. I now have about 95 plants and next year I should have plenty to use for cooking.
I started two small raised beds of walking onions a year ago and I have 100s now. They taste great and are so easy to grow!
Now I’m looking into adding potato onions.
I’m also considering starting a few potato onions.
