Hello there.
I was wondering how can you differentiate a (female) flower bud from a vegetative bud in walnut trees? Is it possible? I notice there are some big buds (especially terminal), but is it because they’re terminal or because they’ll bear flowers? In lateral bearing cultivars, can we see these engorged buds in lateral position? Because in my tree these are much smaller.
