Watermelon patch

The grand watermelon patch. About 2 months ago all five grands participated in planting their watermelon garden. I have been a little worried because they all went home and left the patch in my inexperienced hands until they returned. Not much has been going on until recently but now we have a few melons. They planted ice box sizes and some 25-30 pound sizes. Looks like they will need to downsize their expectations. The 25-30 pound size appears to be on target for icebox size and the icebox size looks like they will be personal size.

I think all us gardener types have to do that!

A little urea and some water and they may still make some good sized melons…at least here it’s a month too early to harvest those.

Thanks. I currently have plenty of Calcium Nitrate. Do you think a little of this around each plant will help?

Be great in moderation…and especially if it came a good rain that night!

Thanks. The kids have enjoyed this project.

They would and your grands have been growing right along with your trees and vines! Now it will be time for a watermelon seed spitting contest!

This could be interesting in that all they have eaten before were seedless.

Forgot to mention that while watering the melons this morning I used your water only for aphid removal. Worked great.
