Webbing on Jonagold apple

I have webbing on a branch of my Jonagold apple. I am not sure what caused it. Should l just cut off the entire branch. Thanks for you help.

Nestof Eastern tent caterpillars come to mind. Are you in the east coast?

You can look it up and compare.

I don’t know how it is handled now a days, but my grandfather would put a corncob on a pitchfork, douse it with kerosene, light it on fire, then burn the caterpillar nest.

We call them web worms down here. You can spray them or just burn them. Either way you want to get rid of them…
