These things are coming up all over and they always sprout around this time of year. They last through the winter.
Do the leaves smell like mint,when crushed?

It does look like a type of mint.
Mints have square stems and (I think) generally spread by underground stolons.
Perhaps some readily self-seeding herb such as oregano has been planted in that area in years past. Ours was still seed-sprouting 5 years later. Do the sniff test.
It’s not oregano.
