Weeping kaki persimmon

I visited a nursery in New Jersey that had one. It looks like a fun tree but requires support. The owner hasn’t eaten the fruit but they look astringent or possibly pollination variant. I didn’t see remains of male flowers on the tree. Anyone growing this? I was given a few sticks to try summer budding.

This is my improved Asian persimmon, like to invite the same deer to do several more.

Bob, could this cause more work later on because the fruit could weigh the branches to the ground? Which one is this tree? I’m glad some survived your abnormally cold weather.

Well yes, but come spring those long branches will be shortened by half. I want those long branches to get as thick as possible. Ultimately the tree will look like a mushroom top.
