The pears are still small, but have started to turn from green to bronze. So I figure they are about ready. I do not know the variety. But I think they are only a few varieties with dark green and bronze color fruits. The fruits are small. It helps to narrow down…

It could be Hosui, but if it turn more russet then it may be Shinko.

So the maturity could be September, and they can continue to turn golden or russet?
Looks like my Shinseiki. My lone fruit is turning green to yellow right now.
Looks like Shinko, as grown here.
But… without labels… I don’t know that I can distinguish many of the round Asian pears from one another.
Chojuro, yeah, butterscotch color and flavor.
Ya Li… more ‘neck’/‘pear’ shaped than many Asians.
Here is the latest photo. I had to pick them since the birds made a show on the tree. I have many birds, a lot baby ones… I put on bird netting, but still not winning. The pear tastes very good. As I posted before, this is a transplanted tree and I was even not supposed to leave the fruits on. So the pears are small. The Nikon cam is set at “vivid” setting. Not sure it makes some difference in terms of color.
