What soil to use for strawberries + blueberries?

Hi all, I don’t really have much space in my backyard to grow stuff, so I have to do it in containers. So yeah I’m just wondering what shape/size container you would recommend for growing strawberries and blueberries in. And what kind of soil is worthy.

Cheers!

For strawberries you can use regular container mix, for blueberries you need more acid soil, so I would go with more peat moss in the mix. Do you have harsh winter? You main problem could be not with the soil, but with winter protection for container.

I live in Perth, Western Australia. We have really nice weather in autumn and spring, not too hot but not cold, just nice and warm like 25 degrees Celsius. Winter is not really that bad. It rarely gets below 5 degrees Celsius. It mostly stays around 10-20 degrees. Summer is very very hot. Usually on average it is 30-35 degrees

Then you have no issues, other then may by shade the pots(not plants) in summer. I also don’t know if you have peat moss there, but generally you need acid soil for blueberries, so adjust according to available materials.

What do you mean shade the posts?

Oops, pots(containers) I mean, the dark pots usually overheat on the hot days, so covering the pots with some reflecting fabric coul help.
