Anyone know what this apple is? This apple tree in my orchard is labeled as “Bedan des Partes”, but I am pretty sure it is NOT that. They do not have an orange blush which is typical of Bedan des Parts. I have another tree that looks identical this one that is labeled “Chisel Jersey”. But once again, pretty sure it isn’t that either! It has a pleasant sweet/tart taste. A few people have commented on another thread that they may be Calville Blanc d’Hiver. But I don’t think so. When you Google it, the pictures do look similar, however, I just happen to have 2 Calville Blanc d’Hiver in my orchard also, and they are very different looking. They do not have the very dark red blush these do. And they are much smaller. The unknown apples are HUGE, many weighing over a pound each! My Calville Blanc d’Hiver could only ever dream of weighing that much, lol.

That is a. good tip! This is the closest I have seen to a comparison so far. The size and color are definitely the same. And I checked on the “master list” the person who planted the orchard left me, Wolf River is on there! And the row number isn’t specified, so this could be it! The color pattern and weird shape of the apples still look different to me. Apples, ugh. The shape looks almost identical to a Calville Blanc d’Hivir, with its weird uneven lobes. But I know that is not what I have. Thank you so much for your reply!
Hi! Its not a Bedan des Partes. My guess its in the Caville family due to the heavy lobes. I would say, Calville rouge.
